Scion Esports fielded an Overwatch team for nearly two years which developed into quite a formidable force in the Tier 3 community. After dominating Open Division 2020 Season 2, going undefeated through the regular season and the playoffs, the team got embroiled in several scandals mostly centering around firebrand player Cohesion. We decided to disband the team completely after they received a short ban due to an alleged cheating incident involving several Contenders teams. After being released from our organization, the team rebranded notoriously as “Infamous” and continued their polarizing presence in the Overwatch scene for a few more months. Despite it’s controversial run, the team remains an integral part of our pro esports history and we’re proud to have been a part of these players’ careers.

Nich
Upon first picking up Overwatch at the age of thirteen, NICH was unsure whether or not he’d stick with it. It was his first FPS game, and he wouldn’t have even ever tried it had it not been for a friend pestering him to play together. The first hero he played was Reinhardt and he was instantly hooked by the strategy and leadership requirements that come with being a main tank player. Once Contenders Season 0 came around NICH decided to get a group of friends together to compete. His team was knocked out by big names in the Overwatch community like Seagull and Faze Clan. NICH says that “being in the same lobby with those guys is what gave him the drive to try to be one of those big names.” NICH has been grinding for three years now and it shows. Having seen him peak at Rank #3 on the North America ladder, we feel confident in his ability to lead from the front line and help Scion Esports rise to the top.

Gummy
Gummy has had a passion for competition all his life. Breaking into the FPS genre with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, he dreamed of becoming a part of a major gaming organization. He moved away from PS4 and onto PC after Overwatch Season 6 in hopes of surpassing his highest rank of Masters and making a career out of the game. By climbing his way from Diamond League all the way to a peak of Rank #2 he has proven that he has what it takes to be a champion. Gummy was a natural fit for the Scion Esports Off Tank role because he is ruthless in game and motivated to bring home an Open Division Championship.

Cohesion
Cohesion has truly run the gauntlet in Overwatch. After starting out on a MacBook in Bronze League, he decided to focus on playing DPS in order be able to efficiently carry games. Peaking at Rank #7, with over 4600 SR, he has achieved just that. Cohesion’s aggressive playstyle and drive to take his play to the next playstyle makes him an obvious choice for DPS on the Scion Overwatch team.

cyy
cyy grew up as a Nintendo fan. He enjoyed the polish that their games had and never really considered playing a shooter until he was introduced CS:GO. After being introduced to the genre he began to look for a game that had the same level of polish as Nintendo games, but with the competitive nature of a shooter. This is when he found Overwatch. Like many other aspiring Overwatch professionals he started out watching YouTube videos of other players. Watching ShaDowBurn play Genji is what really drew him to the projectile DPS role. Being able to jump around quickly and wreak havoc on the enemy fit his playstyle perfectly. cyy is a consistent Top 500 lethal weapon in game and a perfect edition to the Scion Overwatch team.
